Just another day at the office

Today was a beautiful and sunny cold winter day. It's nice but the days are getting shorter - 8:45 am is sunrise and 3:30 pm is sunset today! Here's how we research staff spent our afternoon... just another day at the office
-> firearm - check
-> chainsaw - check
-> power ice auger - check
-> science equipment - check

Yes, today we (Sara, Carley and LeeAnn) deployed the ice profiler in Ramsay Lake for the University of Waterloo researchers.

The sea ice is starting to form along the coast of Hudson Bay. Here are a few pictures from December 1st from along Launch Road (thanks to Sara for the panoramic view and all the other photos too).

We also saw a red fox while we were heading to the geomagnetic building.

We also visited a few of the local ponds to download dataloggers and sample for a couple research teams on November 25.

And one shot of the new building progress as well.
