Another weekend of sun and snow melt

"Morpheus: Welcome to the real world."
- from the Matrix (1999)

After a cool few days this week, the weekend dawned with sun and the warmth of south winds.  It is amazing how quickly the tundra can change.  The wood frogs and boreal chorus frogs are heartily calling their mates into the ponds and the carpet of brown tundra turns to green.  I'm sure there is a purple saxifrage flower out there on the tundra somewhere today!

View from the deck of the new building - May 26 at 10:00 am Central time - note there is still ice on some of the deeper ponds but most of the shallow ponds are now snow free.
