One of those October days

Well this weekend has been nothing to complain about whatsoever. Saturday and Sunday were the sunny days of October that it sometimes feels like you wait all fall for. It was beautiful that it happened on the weekend even though the research staff were hard at work. Carley is working with Dr. Peter Kershaw's Earthwatch Team - Climate Change at Arctic's Edge currently.... more photos to come.

Today was also the CIBC Run for a Cure in support of Breast Cancer research. The lovely weather made for an easy five km run or walk from Town to the navy base and back. So just in case you didn't get a chance to check the temperatures in Churchill out today... + 19oC and sunny for a high temperature.

And the corner has been reached for arctic sea ice extent. While there isn't any ice in Hudson Bay yet, the the minimum arctic sea ice extent was reached in mid September.
